Wild Mustard

I made a Valentine brooch for Carter's preschool teacher awhile back.  Do you remember the zipper flower clip--a little rock n roll and romance all in one?  I loved it, but I didn't love how I attached it to the clip.  I kept it on my counter for weeks and then decided to make a bib necklace for Mrs. M.  I warned you when I started this blog that I shift gears quickly.

Right around this time of year, wild mustard pops up all over the sagebrush and tumbleweed covered hills of Southern California.  It is a bold flower that I have always seen every spring, but I am tremendously allergic to it.  Claritin thanks you, wild mustard.

I decided to craft in reference to this spicy wildflower by picking some deliciously mustard colored fabric and partnering it with the dark gray zipper rose.  I added dark gray felt to the back of the bib necklace and gun metal colored ribbon to tie it together.  I think it is pretty, and I don't sneeze when I am near it.

The pictures are still from my point and shoot camera this week, so be patient with the photographs.
